Site Overview
Located in Co. Wexford, St. John's South Solar Farm is being developed within the townland of St John�s. The site is approximately 3 km from Enniscorthy which lies north of the site. The site itself consists of unmanaged agricultural land of low ecological value. The Solar Farm will be situated on shallow sloping land at an approximate elevation of 24-36m AOD.
Planning permission for this site was granted by An Bord Pleanala in 2018 and includes for 13 No. Conditions. The grant includes for include one single storey electrical substation building, electrical transformer/inverter station modules, solar PV panels ground mounted on steel support structures, access roads, fencing and associated electrical cabling, ducting and ancillary infrastructure.
The site is proximate to existing electrical infrastructure and the current grid connection point is projected as the Monfin 38kV substation local to the site.
