Site Overview

Located in Co. Waterford, Clashnagoneen Solar Farm is being developed within the townlands of Ballyhane, Ballyard and Clashnagoneen. The site is approximately 10 km from Dungarvan which lies east of the site. The site itself is of moderate grade agricultural value, consisting of tilled land and grassland used for the grazing of livestock. The Solar Farm will be situated on shallow sloping agricultural land at an approximate elevation of 20-47m AOD.

Planning permission for this site was granted by An Bord Pleanala in 2019 and includes for 12 No. Conditions. The grant includes for include one single storey electrical substation building, electrical transformer/inverter station modules, solar PV panels ground mounted on steel support structures, access roads, fencing and associated electrical cabling, ducting and ancillary infrastructure.

The site is proximate to existing electrical infrastructure and the current grid connection point is projected as the Kilcloher 38kV substation local to the site.

This solar farm is being developed by Highfield Energy as part of our broader commitment to a sustainable future.
