Site Overview

Located in Co. Waterford, Clashganny South Solar Farm is being developed within the townlands of Clashganny and Coolroe. The site is approximately 1 km from the village of Portlaw which lies southwest of the site. The site itself is of moderate grade agricultural value, consisting of tilled land and arable land used for the production of arable crops.

Planning permission for this site was granted by Waterford City and County Council in 2017 and includes for 18 No. Conditions. The grant includes for include one single storey electrical substation building, electrical transformer/inverter station modules, solar PV panels ground mounted on steel support structures, access roads, fencing and associated electrical cabling, ducting and ancillary infrastructure.

The site is proximate to existing electrical infrastructure and the current grid connection point is projected as the Portlaw 38kV substation local to the site.

This solar farm is being developed by Highfield Energy as part of our broader commitment to a sustainable future.
